MediaPro Template

Thank you for purchasing and using our software.

The MediaPro template includes the expanded MediaPro theme which utilises a single header and footer file to give a more unified look and design. The skin and theme should only be used together, other themes may not be compatible if used with the MediaPro skin.

If you are installing this template yourself please follow the instructions below using suitable file editing software such as BBEdit or alternatively use the Template Editor in the your Admin Tools.

Installation:

1. Unzip the file on your hard drive and using suitable FTP software simply copy/upload all files and folders within the jamroom folder to the jamroom directory on your server.

2. To install the MediaPro Skin in your Jamroom, log-in as admin and select Jamroom Config then Jamroom Skins then select MediaPro as the Active Skin and update your settings.

3. To install the MediaPro Theme in your Jamroom, log-in as admin and select Jamroom Config then Profile Themes then click the Install New Theme button and select MediaPro >> MediaPro and click install. As long as the quota allows it, your users should now be able to select the MediaPro Theme.

Tip: If you would prefer your members to only have access to the MediaPro Theme, disable all other themes and transfer your members to the MediaPro Theme. (Remember to regenerate your profiles if transfering users).

Note: Any previous versions of the MediaPro theme and admin skin will be overwritten. (Always backup your data).

CSS Colour Schema:

Switch between Light or Dark skin layout by editing the skins/MediaPro/MediaPro.cfg file, look for this section:

# Light or Dark CSS skin layout (light / dark)
css_layout = light

Site branding:

Simply edit or replace the following files to change the branding of your template.

Reviews and Interviews:

When you create new Content in your admin you need to set the correct "Page Category" for the content to show up in the correct place in the template, There are 2 categories Review and Interview, you'll see that there are menu links in the template which lead to these pages - in the header.

When you modify or create new content, in the Page Category "see below" make sure to enter one of these categories, either Reviews or Interviews. If you do not set a Page Category then your content will not show in these pages.

Tip: To make a user an editor, select "modify user" from the admin menu, the option is located at the bottom of the modify user page.

Admin Blog:

When you create an Admin Blog you need to set the correct category for the Blog to show up in the correct place in the template, There are 3 categories About, Blog and News, you'll see that there are links in the template which lead to these pages - in the footer.

When you modify or create a new Admin Blog, in the New Entry Category make sure to enter one of these categories.

Note: If you do not set any of these categories in your Admin Blog, the blog entries will NOT show in the skin.

Google Ads and Rotating Banners:

Google Ads have been configured throughout the template skin, your Google Ads code for ALL ads needs to be set by editing the MediaPro.cfg located in the skins/MediaPro/ direcory.

Rotating Ads have also been introduced into the header section of the MediaPro template using the new Jamroom rotation {jr_html_ad} variable. You can select between Google Ads or Banner rotation for the top header section or none at all, this can be set in the MediaPro.cfg file as above. The files for rotation are located in the jamroom/skins/MediaPro/ads/ directory.

Note: All files must be named "ad?.tpl" where ? is a number, and each file must be in STRICT numerical order "ad1.tpl, ad2.tpl, ad3.tpl" and so forth. For more information on the rotation variable see: http://www.jamroom.net/Jamroom4_jr_html_ad

Note: The banner graphics for the rotator are located in the skins/MediaPro/ads_rotation/ directory.

Video settings:

The MediaPro Template now supports the following video formats "WMV, MOV and FLV" which need to be set for each artist quota. Login to your Admin and choose "Media Support" in your quotas, locate the "Video Settings" section and in "Valid Video Sections" enter "wmv, mov, flv".

The video system in the MediaPro Template also supports embedded video from YouTube.com and other video embed sites, A new custom form field must be created in the admin named "Video Embed" which will allow users to paste in the embedded video code. The correct HTML tags must also be set in the "Allowed HTML Tags" section in the "Extra Features" tab in each artists quota. Please follow these instructions for the embedded video configuration:

Note: The maximum size for embedded video is width="425" x height="350" as configured at YouTube.com)

Site Help Page:

An Ajax driven site help page has been configured and is located in skins/MediaPro/help.tpl, simply edit this page to reflect your own help system.

Artist Subscriptions Page:

A three section artist subscriptions page has been introduced which can be manually edited to reflect up to three artists quotas configured in your admin "1 free and 2 paid quotas", this page is located in skins/MediaPro/subs.tpl. For further information on configuring your Jamroom quotas please consult the Jamroom documentation: http://www.jamroom.net/Jamroom4_Quota_System

If you do not want subscriptions you can switch the links off by editing the skins/MediaPro/MediaPro.cfg file.

Note: If you have NO subscriptions set in your quotas the Subscription page will give a PAGE ERROR.

Flash XSPF song playback buttons or normal streaming:

As standard MediaPro uses Jamroom's streaming playback buttons in the profile themes, however, the option is also available for Flash XSPF playback buttons and this can be toggled on or off by editing the skins/MediaPro/MediaPro.cfg file.

Note: The use of Flash XSPF playback buttons may slow down the refresh on heavily populated pages. (XSPF is MP3 playback only).

Admin Radio Station:

As standard the Admin Radio station in the template is set to ID=1, this will be the ID that your FIRST station will be automatically set to. After you create a new Admin Radio station remember to add songs to the station using the Included Songs button.

If you do not want an Admin Radio station you can turn the links off by editing the file skins/MediaPro/MediaPro.cfg file.

Note: your artists MUST have at least 1 MP3 song uploaded to their profiles before you can add songs to your Admin Radio station - otherwise you will get a PAGE ERROR

Admin TV Channel:

As standard the Admin TV channel in the template is set to ID=1, this will be the ID that your FIRST channel will be automatically set to. After you create a new Admin TV channel remember to add songs to the channel using the Included Videos button.

If you do not want an Admin TV channel you can turn the links off by editing the file skins/MediaPro/MediaPro.cfg file.

Note: your artists MUST have at least 1 FLV or WMV video uploaded to their profiles before you can add videos to your Admin TV channel - otherwise you will get a BLANK WHITE PAGE

Top Genres:

MediaPro gives the option of displaying 6 "Top Song Genres" of your choice on the Music page, to choose the genres edit the file skins/MediaPro/MediaPro.cfg and change the genre names accordingly.

Note: Your genres must already be named in the Jamroom Song Genre system for them to work. You can leave a tab blank to disable it.
